David Ward urges households to call the free Home Heat Helpline

by Steve Beasant on 19 December, 2014

Home Heat HelplineLiberal Democrat MP for Bradford East David Ward is urging households to call the free Home Heat helpline to get free advice on assistance with energy bills and keeping warm during the winter.

New research from Home Heat Helpline shows 11,000 households in Bradford East are eligible for help to keep their home warm this winter. This equates to 25% of households in Bradford East who are eligible for help from energy companies this winter.

As a result, David Ward and Home Heat Helpline (0800 33 66 99) are encouraging people to find out what they could be entitled to. This may include help with energy bills and discounts on energy saving equipment like more efficient boilers.

Homes that may qualify include all those living in certain deprived areas as well as low income pensioners, disadvantaged families with children or those with a disability that live in a rural area.

“Many people may not know where to turn for free advice on keeping their homes warm.

“One of the best ways for people in Bradford to stay warm this winter is to act now, and I’m urging people to call the Home Heat Helpline free on 0800 33 66 99 to see if they’re eligible for help.”

Lawrence Slade, Chief Operating Officer, Home Heat Helpline:

“The research speaks for itself – an astounding 3.2 million households in Britain are entitled to home heating help. As we’re now in winter, we are urging people to make a free, confidential call to the Home Heat Helpline on 0800 33 66 99.”

Last year, 98 per cent of eligible households may have missed out on free advice and support because they did not call the independent Helpline.

The British Energy Aid Report, carried out by the New Policy Institute on behalf of Home Heat Helpline, showed that one in eight British homes across Great Britain is entitled to relief, a total of 3.2 million households.
