Postal Scam from Parcel Delivery Service

by Steve Beasant on 27 October, 2011

With Christmas fast approaching and a probable rise in items being delivered please be aware of this scam.

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number.)

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 0207 239 6655.

    Hi Steve
Just to let you know that Postal Scam noted on your website is a non-existent scam perpetrated by hoax emails. Just click the crimestoppers link in the article to see the true story. I know you got this direct from Action Fraud who should be the most reliable source being a Home Office agency but they, supposed scam busting experts, actually fell for a hoax themselves!

It might be amusing to amend your report of the “scam” with details of how Action Fraud themselves were hoaxed!
