by Steve Beasant on 22 August, 2013

As part of the council’s drive to making accessibility to our services for customers easier and more efficient, we are reminding residents and local businesses of the different ways in which you can now make payments for your council tax and your business rates.

More and more people are now choosing to use a simpler and easier way to make their payments to the council. If you have not already done so please consider one of the options below when you make your next payment.

Direct Debit
Paying by Direct Debit is easy, more convenient and gives you greater control over your money. It also means that your payment is guaranteed to be made every month and you don’t have to worry about it.

Paying by Direct Debit also helps to keep council tax and business rates bills down for everyone as it costs the council less to collect payments in this way. Direct Debit is payable on either the 1st or 15th of the month. You can set up a Direct Debit by telephoning the council’s contact centre on 01472 323840 with your account number and bank details and our staff will do the rest.

Save time do it online!
You can pay on-line 24/7 by going to the council’s secure website, www.nelincs.gov.uk/payit, and follow the instructions on how to make the payment. You will need to have your account number and the debit/credit card details with you in order to make the payment.

You can now access council services online by visiting your local library where dedicated computers are available for you to use free of charge.

Telephone
You can now also pay on our new 24/7 automated telephone payment service. Call 0845 2340514 and follow the simple instructions to make your payment by either debit or credit card. You will need to have your account number and debit/credit card details with you in order to make the payment.
