Getting Better Together Event: Grimsby Town Hall, 9 January

by Steve Beasant on 31 December, 2013

Getting Better Together

You are invited to our Getting Better Together drop in event on January 9, 2014 between 3pm to 7pm at Grimsby Town Hall.

  • Receive help and support for yourself or your organisation
  • help identify where we need to encourage and support new developments, services, groups and clubs
  • become part of our Ageing Better Together proposal and Releasing Community Capacity Programme

“Healthy people living in healthy places”

Our communities are the experts in their own lives, with different skills, needs and ideas.
With support they can run projects in their own way which really make a difference to
well-being. We are making this a reality by working with communities and front-line staff
to change the way we do things. On January 9th you can:

Find out about:

  • and learn from some of the new projects that local people are developing supported by the Releasing Community Capacity Programme;
  • the help, training and development available for organisations, communities and individuals to develop an idea or make an existing service better;
  • the money that the Health and Well-being Board has set aside to support new community developments;
  • how you can get more involved or get support for your organisation, project or idea;
  • the local Services4Me website and add information about your service, organisation or group.

Tell us:

  • about your project, organisation or idea so we can help you promote it;
  • about unmet needs and service gaps in your area, or things you would like to do but cannot find locally

Meet:

  • other people, clubs and organisations with similar needs or wants to yourself, however unusual your interest might be

Become part of our Big Lottery ‘Ageing Better Together’ proposal:

  • contribute to our vision and strategy to help older people stay active and involved in their communities;
  • discuss priorities for the services we should develop and support to reduce isolation;
  • help develop our ‘older people’s partnership’ to deliver our proposal, and to shape our future priorities for older people;
  • discuss how we support communities to take the lead, and how we support older people to lead the Ageing Better Together Partnership.
