Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on Yarra Road, Cleethorpes at around 1615hrs on Boxing Day.

A 54 year old man was cycling along Yarra Road when he passed an unknown man and woman. As he did so the man asked what the cyclist was looking at which the victim ignored, but the man ran into the road and pulled him off the cycle. The man and the woman then allegedly assaulted the cyclist while on the floor.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment to abrasions to his chin, a blackened eye, scratches to the top of his head, a lump on back of his head, abdominal pain and a painful neck.

The male suspect is described as white, 6ft 1ins tall with a skinny build, dark brown hair and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

The female suspect is described as white, 5ft 2ins tall with shoulder length blond hair and was wearing a cream coloured jacket.
