by Steve Beasant on 9 September, 2015

An app dedicated to promoting places to eat, stay and visit in North East Lincolnshire is now live

Discovering North East Lincolnshire just became easier with the launch of a brand new free app for apple and android mobile users. Both local residents and those visiting the borough alike are able to view a whole range of places to eat, drink, stay and visit, as well as special offers, with a just a few taps of their smart phone.

VESR, the Visitor Economy Services and Retail Group, has launched the DiscoverNEL app, the latest release in the brand’s range of promotional tools which includes a website, multi-platform social media presence, video and glossy brochure. The role of DiscoverNEL, which was introduced in March of this year, is to promote North East Lincolnshire as a place to work, stay and play for visitors and local residents.

With sections including What’s On, Somewhere to Stay, Food & Drink and Offers, users of the app can quickly and easily access information in the area, browse upcoming events and take advantage of available offers.

Amanda Austin, Chair of VESR, said:

“This summer has been absolutely fantastic, there has been a host of great, free events for families to enjoy, and with the national Armed Forces Day celebrations being held in Cleethorpes in 2016, now really is the time to showcase all that North East Lincolnshire has to offer and put our borough well and truly on the map.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of the DiscoverNEL app, to highlight the fabulous offer we have here for those visiting the area for business and leisure, and for local residents, helping them to make the most of their time in North East Lincolnshire.”

Julia Thompson, Vice Chair of VESR said,

‘It’s important for any brand to engage online, especially through mobile. DiscoverNEL has a popular social media presence highlighting some of the events and good news stories in our area. The App is a directory so everyone can explore some of the restaurants, shops and attractions, and get a great discount.’

The DiscoverNEL app is available to download now, for free, from the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices respectively. For more information about DiscoverNEL and links to download the app, visit
