Grimsby Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incidents. If you can help call 101
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following two burglaries through open front doors and a further attempted burglary in Grimsby overnight on Saturday December 19 into the early hours of Sunday December 20.
The incidents happened at the following addresses and the details are as follows:
Pershore Avenue, Grimsby (Crime reference number 2158422) At 11.55pm on Saturday December 19 an unknown man entered the house via an unlocked front door before looking through a keys left near the door. He left the keys and nothing was stolen, but it is believed he was looking for the keys to the victim’s car which were not with the bunch of keys.
Pershore Avenue, Grimsby (Crime reference number 2158325) At some time between 10am on Saturday December 19 and 1.30am on Sunday December 20 an unknown man entered the property through an unlocked front door before stealing a hand bag and its contents.
Broadway, Grimsby (Crime reference number 2158322) At some time between midnight and 1am on Sunday December 20 an unknown man entered the property through an unlocked front door before stealing a set of keys. The keys have then been to steal a black Ford Fiesta.
Detectives are again urging residents to ensure that they leave their homes secure to prevent sneak-in burglaries. Simple measures like locking doors and windows could have prevented all these crimes.
In addition, people are reminded to keep keys out of view and in a safe place so burglars can’t steal cars following a burglary.
Anyone who can help identify the man or who witnessed any of the offences are urged to call Humberside Police on 101 quoting the relevant crime reference number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.Leave a comment
