Through pressure from the Liberal Democrats and voices across the media Theresa May has changed her mind on Trumps comments about the Mayor of London today, calling the Trump comments “wrong”

Commenting on yet another Conservative U-turn Liberal Democrat Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Tom Brake said:

“Theresa May has allowed Donald Trump 24 hours to bully the mayor of London. It isn’t good enough.

“In fairness at least this turnaround only took her a day. It took her a weekend to row back from the Conservative manifesto.

“Trump’s attack on Sadiq Khan was not only wrong, it was outrageous.  Just as has been shown in so many other areas, when it comes to Trump, Theresa May is meek and mild, not strong and stable.

“It is time for Theresa May to do the right thing and cancel the state visit.”
