Commenting on news that car manufacturing in the UK fell last year for the first time since 2009, Tom Brake, Liberal Democrat Brexit Spokesperson, said:

“The drop in car production is a sign of the damage being left in the wake of the Tories’ chaotic Brexit.

“This worrying fall is not Project Fear, this is raw data from the ground that shows Brexit is harming the UK economy.

“Peoples’ jobs are on the line, our economy has stunted growth, and Theresa May’s mishandling is only making matters worse. The people must be given a chance to exit from Brexit.”
