Today at PMQs, Liberal Democrat leader Vince Cable highlighted the Labour leadership’s complicity with the Conservatives in pursuing a hard Brexit.
Vince Cable asked:
“The Prime Minister and the Leader of the Labour opposition both agree that we should leave the Single Market, leave the European Union Customs Union, and that the public should not have a final say on the Brexit deal.
“So would she dispense with the tradition of party political point scoring and, in that spirit, would she publicly thank the leadership of the Labour Party for their help and support in making Brexit happen?”
Rather rudely, Theresa May failed to thank Jeremy Corbyn.
Follow the exchange, Vince Cable added:
“Theresa May treated the question light-heartedly, but it is a very serious problem that the Labour leadership is backing the Conservatives’ chaotic Brexit, in opposition to the views of their backbenches and party membership.”
