Responding to concerns from Honda that Brexit will limit access to their supply chain, Liberal Democrat Brexit Spokesperson Tom Brake said:

“First it was Airbus, then BMW and now Honda warning of the dire consequences of a ‘no deal’ Brexit and the continued lack of clarity over the UK Government’s position on customs and regulatory alignment.

“As Honda states, Brexit is a lot of moving parts and nobody knows whether they are going to mesh together neatly or grind to a screeching halt.

“The latest figures show that investment in the car industry has halved in the last 12 months, likely due to anxiety surrounding Brexit. That is why the Lib Dems are campaigning for a final say on the deal and an Exit from Brexit.”
