Papers released today show a no-deal Brexit could bring chaos to Eurostar, Lib Dem Foreign Affairs spokesperson Christine Jardine has warned.

Ms Jardine said:

“Eurostar is a great example of European cooperation and engineering prowess. The fact that no-deal could put it out of service is symbolic of the mess the Government have made of Brexit.

“My only hope is that Brexiter MEPs are on the continental side of the channel when it stops, so that they can see the folly of their project.

“Looking at the papers released today it is clear that no-deal is catastrophic and the Chequers plan little better. The Government must grant the people a vote on the final deal and an option to remain in the EU.”
