Like many young people, Liberal Democrats are instinctively open and tolerant in our outlook and optimistic about the future. Liberal Democrats are passionate about creating a thriving, modern, fairer country in which every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Liberal Democrats have lived and breathed these liberal values in government – introducing equal marriage; leading the fight against climate change; creating new, high tech jobs, and defending Britain’s place in the world.

In the future, Liberal Democrats will go even further to remove the barriers that unfairly hold back young people. Liberal Democrats will give every young person a two thirds discount on their bus travel; create more apprenticeships; protect education budgets from cradle to college, and put mental health on an equal footing with physical health. To make sure that government listens to the voices of young people, Liberal Democrats will give 16 year olds the right to vote in all UK elections.
