Responding to Boris Johnson’s defence of his remarks that the EU could “go whistle” over the Brexit bill, Liberal Democrat Brexit Spokesperson Tom Brake said:

“Boris Johnson is certainty whistling a different tune to five months ago.

“He recently repeated the claim that Brexit will bring £350m a week for the NHS. Now he’s admitting it will cost the country around £50bn.

“This is a stunning volte-face.

“The Brexiters simply can’t deliver on what they promised. That’s why the British people deserve a vote on the final deal.”
