Arrest Following Assault at the Rutland Arms, Rutland Street

Police attended the Rutland Arms in Rutland Street, Grimsby, on the evening of Saturday August 2 following a report of an assault outside the pub.

A 46-year-old local man had been assaulted – no weapons were used. He was taken to hospital in Grimsby where he is being treated for life threatening injuries.

Officers have arrested a 27 year-old local man in connection with the incident. He is currently helping police with their enquiries.

DCI Wendy North said:

“We need anyone who witnessed this incident, anyone with any information, or anyone who was in the Rutland Arms before or after it took place at approximately 6.10 pm, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
