Public toilet provision in North East Lincolnshire is set to be studied next month by a special committee established by North East Lincolnshire Council.
Members of the Public Toilets Select Committee will meet on Tuesday 2 September at Grimsby Town Hall to consider the borough’s WCs and how they are managed and funded.
The committee was set up after a petition signed by more than 400 people against plans to close three public toilets in Grimsby and Cleethorpes was presented at a meeting of the full council on 20 March.
Members will look at a number of potential options that will ultimately contribute to lowering the running costs of public toilets in North East Lincolnshire.
Last year the council spent £212,000 in running costs for its eight public toilets.
People are invited to put forward their own ideas for the provision of public toilets in the borough as part of the scrutiny process.
If you have a suggestion you’d like to put forward please email [email protected] or call 01472 325902 before Wednesday 27 August.
The committee will report its findings to the Regeneration, Environment and Housing Scrutiny Panel, which will then make a recommendation to cabinet.
