Police appeal for independent witness after assaults on Stanley Street on Saturday 28 November

Humberside Police is appealing for independent witnesses after an alleged assault has left a 20-year-old man with serious injuries following two assaults on Stanley Street, Grimsby on Friday 28 November 2014.

At around 0900hrs on Friday 28 November 2014, a 20-year-old man was on foot at the corner of Stanley Street and Duke Street when a silver coloured Vauxhall Omega pulled up and then driver got out. The driver then approached victim and started engaging him in conversation, before allegedly punching the victim multiple time causing him to fall to the floor. Once on the floor the offender allegedly continued to assault the man, before stopping and leaving the area.

The victim then walked off, however six hours later, he was back on Stanley Street where he was approached again by possibly the same man assaulted a second time. The offender then left the area.

As a result of the assault the victim has sustained a fractured sternum and fractured ribs. He didn’t attend hospital till Monday 01 December for treatment and remains in hospital in a serious condition.

The offender has been described as white, around 6ft 2ins tall with a heavy build. He had short blond coloured hair and was clean shaven at the time.
