A young cycle mechanic, who has been described by the ATG world-class workshop trainer, Jules Thrasher, as a rare talent, is riding high at the top of his profession.
Adam James, who works full-time at the Grimsby Cycle Hub, has achieved Cytech accreditation level 3, the highest qualification in the bike maintenance industry.
Janine Walker, managing director at the Cycle Hub, said:
“I’m really proud to have Adam as part of the team.
“There are two strands to Cytech training – mountain bikes and road bikes – and Adam has passed both courses with full marks and he is now officially a professional wheel-builder.
“He is the only Cytech accredited mechanic in the area, the next nearest being in Hull or Lincoln. You only need Level 2 to be accredited but Adam’s gone straight in at the top Level 3.”
While Cytech is a qualification in its own right, Adam has undertaken it as part of a wider engineering qualification.
