A woman is appealing for the return of her phone after it was stolen in a distraction burglary.

The incident happened at 2pm on Friday May 8 at a property on Castle Street in Grimsby.

The victim, a 54-year-old woman, answered the door to an unknown man asking to fill a drinks bottle with water. After agreeing to do so and leaving the caller at the door, the woman went to the kitchen to fill the bottle.

She gave the bottle to the man who left and a short time later the woman noticed her white Samsung touch screen mobile telephone was missing.

The caller was described as a white man of slim build with a gaunt face and wearing a dark track suit and baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the missing phone which holds data valuable to the victim, including sentimental photographs should call 101 quoting log number 309 of May 9 2015.
