Handbag snatched in Grimsby supermarket car park

Cash and iphone stolen

A woman had her handbag snatched as she walked across a supermarket car park with her husband in Grimsby on Saturday evening.

The incident happened at around 8pm on Saturday 12 September 2015 as the pair returned to their vehicle in the car park of the Sainsbury’s supermarket on Corporation Road in Grimsby.

The woman reported having her brown leather Radley handbag snatched from her husband’s hand as they arrived at their vehicle.

Neither were hurt in the incident which happened quickly and did not enable a good description to be obtained of the thief.

He was described as being a white man, about 5ft 8in tall and of medium build wearing a dark jacket.

The stolen bag contained a black Radley purse with a red dog motif and a small amount of cash, as well as a white iphone 4 with a pink diamante cover.

The elderly victims have been spoken to by police and are being kept updated with progress on the investigation as enquiries continue.
