Speaking in the House of Commons debate on the release of the full copies of the leaked Brexit papers, Tom Brake, Liberal Democrat Brexit Spokesperson, asked Labour’s Spokesperson Keir Starmer:
“If these reports confirm that the UK will be harmed, whatever deal the UK strikes with the EU, will Labour campaign to stay in the EU?”
Labour did not answer the question.
Following the debate Tom said:
“Allowing MPs to access these impact assessments in Kremlin-style conditions will not help the wider public gain a clearer understanding of the consequences of Brexit.
“These reports will confirm that all possible deals will damage jobs and people’s standards of living.
“The people must be given a vote on the deal and chance to exit from Brexit.”
