Commenting on a report published by the Home Affairs Select committee into security cooperation and Brexit, Liberal Democrat Home Affairs Spokesperson Ed Davey said: 

“Today’s report makes clear something that the Liberal Democrats have long been arguing: the Conservatives’ chaotic approach to Brexit is putting our nation’s security at grave risk.

“Losing information-sharing arrangements and the European Arrest Warrant will make it much harder to keep British people safe and bring criminals to justice. Yet the Government’s red lines mean that losing them is a very real possibility.

“The new Brexit Secretary must abandon those red lines and prioritise Britain’s security over Conservative ideology.”
